Free DFM review of one part.
Before you pay for steel, have the part read the way a toolmaker will read it. Book a 15-minute call, upload one part, and Jack Cheng tells you what will cost you in the tool, what to change while it is cheap, and which process and material fit.

- Draft and wall thicknessWhere the part will stick in the tool, sink or warp, and the wall that fixes it.
- Undercuts and mechanismsEvery slide or lifter is a line on the tool quote. Which ones a small change removes.
- Gate, parting line, cosmeticsWhere the marks go, and which faces have to stay clean.
- Material and processThe resin or material for the job, and whether molding, insert molding, casting, cut and sew or a packaging format is the right process.
- Tolerances that cost moneyThe dimensions that drive inspection and tool cost, and which can relax.
- Tooling path and rough piece priceCavities, tool class and an early piece-price range where the files allow.
How it works
Three steps. The files go in after you book.
The upload happens on your private prep page, not on a public form, so drawings never travel by open email. The prep page is also where you set the agenda and share quantities and a target cost.
- 1 · Book 15 minutesPick a time on Jack’s calendar. Free, by video or phone.
- 2 · Upload one partYour private prep page takes the drawing, STEP, sketch or photos, the quantities and the target cost. Sign a mutual NDA there first if you want one.
- 3 · Get Jack’s notesJack reads the part before the call, walks you through what he found, and follows up in writing.
Who reads it
The principal, not a sales queue.
Jack's engineering team and vetted partner network run tooling and production. He handles CAD, design for manufacture, cavity layout and piece-price math before any steel is cut. A sample, a sketch, a drawing or a photograph is enough to start.
One part, free, no obligation to build anything. If the part does not suit the factories he uses, he will say so and, where he can, point you to someone better placed.

Questions
About the free review.
What is a DFM review?
Design for manufacturing: reading a part the way the toolmaker and the line will, before any steel is cut. It finds the features that make a tool expensive or a part hard to hold, and what to change while a change is still cheap.
What do I need to send?
Whatever you have: a drawing, a STEP file, a sketch, photographs or a physical sample. One part. You upload it on your private prep page after you book, where you can also sign a mutual NDA first.
Is it really free?
Yes, for one part, with no obligation to build anything. It is how Jack shows what working with him is like. If the part does not suit the factories he uses, he will tell you that plainly too.
Which processes does it cover?
Injection molding, insert molding and overmolding, electronics and PCBA, cut and sew, packaging, blister and clamshell, POP displays and powder-coated metal parts: the work JCH runs through vetted partner factories.
Is the review a quote?
No. It is a manufacturability read with a tooling path and a rough piece price where the files allow one. A formal quote follows if you want one.
