Privacy policy.
What this website collects, why, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Effective September 24, 2026 · updated October 1, 2026 (checklist download form added; Crazy Egg heatmaps and A/B tests added, with cookies; contact-form file uploads added)
This policy covers jchtrade.com. The site is run by WJH & JCH Global Trading LLC, doing business as JCH Design & Manufacturing (“JCH”, “we”). Questions go to jack@jchtrade.com or (321) 323-4474.
The short version
- If you use the contact form, we get what you type into it. Jack reads it and answers.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits; it sets cookies, and you can block them. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, page replays with all text masked); on this site it sets no cookies. We use Crazy Egg for heatmaps, recordings and A/B tests of page wording; it sets its own cookies, and you can opt out.
- We advertise on Google and Microsoft Bing. Their tags on this site tell us when a visit that came from one of our ads goes on to send the form or tap the phone number, and may let them show our ads to past visitors. You can opt out; see below.
- We do not sell your personal information. Your message is never sent to an ad network; only a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address is, to match a sent form to an ad click.
- Ask us to delete what we hold about you and we will.
What the contact form collects
Required: your name, an email address, and a description of what you are trying to make. Optional: your company and your answers to the drop-down questions (what you are looking for, where the project is today, product category, rough scale, where it will sell, rough budget, and how you found us). With each message we also record the time it was sent and the page it was sent from.
The checklist download form. If you ask for one of our PDF checklists, we collect the email address and company you enter, with the time and the page. It is stored in the same database as the contact form and read by Jack, and we email you the checklist link. Google Analytics records that a checklist was requested, not what you typed.
The form is stored in a Google Cloud Firestore database that we control, and it is read by Jack. If the form cannot send, for example because you are offline, your answers are kept in your own browser’s local storage so you do not lose them. That copy stays on your device.
Files you attach. If you attach a drawing, photo or other file to the contact form, it is stored in Google Firebase Storage in the United States (the us-east1 region). It is used only to answer your inquiry, and it is seen by Jack. Only JCH can open it; it cannot be read or listed from a browser. It is deleted automatically 90 days after upload. Allowed types are PDF, STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, JPG, PNG and ZIP, up to 25 MB, as the form shows. Please do not attach anything confidential that you have not marked as confidential; for sensitive drawings, ask first and we will agree how to exchange them.
If you call, text or email us, we get what you send, the same way any business does.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It records page views and a few actions: sending
the contact form (the fact that it was sent, not what you wrote), tapping the phone number and tapping an email
link. Google Analytics also collects standard technical information such as browser, device type, the page that
sent you here and an approximate location derived from your connection. It uses first-party cookies (named
_ga and _ga_<ID>) to tell one visit from the next.
How to opt out:
- Install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies for jchtrade.com in your browser settings. The site works without them, contact form included.
- Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.
Google’s own use of this data is covered by how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings
We use Microsoft Clarity to see where pages confuse people: where visitors click, how far they scroll, and replays of page views. A Clarity recording is not a video of your screen. It rebuilds the page from the page’s own content and records your mouse movements, clicks, taps and scrolling, along with device and browser information.
All text is masked. Clarity runs in its Strict masking mode on this site: all text on the page is masked before anything is uploaded, and what you type into boxes or choose in drop-down menus is masked in every mode (Microsoft’s masking documentation). A recording shows where people clicked and scrolled, not what they read or wrote.
No cookies. We run Clarity in consent mode and do not ask for cookie consent, so Clarity sets no cookies on this site, neither its own nor Microsoft’s. Without them, Clarity cannot connect one page view to the next: each page is recorded as its own session (Clarity consent mode). Microsoft’s handling of the data it does receive is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
How to opt out of Clarity:
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser; Clarity supports it.
- Opt out of Microsoft at optout.aboutads.info, the opt-out Microsoft points to for Clarity.
- Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.
Crazy Egg: heatmaps, recordings and A/B tests
We also use Crazy Egg, a service of Crazy Egg, Inc., to see where visitors click and scroll, to replay page views, and to run A/B tests, where different visitors see different versions of a headline or of the quote form so we can learn which one is clearer. Crazy Egg works for us as a service provider: it records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, the pages viewed, and device and browser information.
Crazy Egg uses cookies. Unlike Clarity on this site, Crazy Egg sets first-party cookies on jchtrade.com,
for example _ce.s (visitor and session, 1 year), cebs and cebsp_ (the
current browser session) and _CEFT (which version of an A/B test you were shown, 1 year), so you keep
seeing the same version. The full list is in
Crazy Egg’s cookie policy, and
Crazy Egg’s handling of the data is covered by its
privacy policy.
How to opt out of Crazy Egg:
- Turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser; Crazy Egg honors it (Crazy Egg’s opt-out steps).
- Block or delete cookies for jchtrade.com in your browser settings. The site works without them, contact form included.
- Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.
Advertising: Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising
We buy search ads on Google and on Microsoft Bing. To learn which ads bring real inquiries, this site loads
the Google Ads tag (through the same Google tag as Analytics) and the Microsoft Advertising Universal Event
Tracking (UET) tag. They record that a page was viewed and whether a visit went on to send the contact form, tap
the phone number or tap an email link. When the form is sent, your email address is
scrambled in your browser (a one-way SHA-256 hash) and that hash is passed to Google and Microsoft, so a finished
inquiry can be matched to the ad that led to it; they never see the address itself, and nothing else you type into the
form is sent to them. When you arrive from one of
our ads, the ad click ID in the link (gclid or msclkid) is stored in a first-party cookie so
the later action can be matched to the ad.
These tags set cookies, including Google’s _gcl_au and Microsoft’s _uetsid,
_uetvid and MUID. Google and Microsoft may also use them to show our ads to people who have
visited this site before (remarketing) and to measure ads across their networks. We do not run social-media
tracking pixels.
How to opt out of ad tracking:
- Google: turn off personalized ads at My Ad Center.
- Microsoft: turn off personalized ads at Microsoft ad settings.
- Industry opt-out: optout.aboutads.info.
- Block or delete cookies for jchtrade.com, or turn on Global Privacy Control. The site works without these cookies, contact form included.
Google’s and Microsoft’s use of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Google Firebase. Like any web host, it keeps server logs of requests (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use what you send
- To answer your inquiry, quote your project and, if you hire us, run it.
- To keep ordinary business records.
- To see which pages help people, so we can write better ones.
We will not add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information. What you type into the form goes to three kinds of people, and only these:
- Service providers that run the site for us: Google (hosting, the form database, analytics, ad measurement), Microsoft (Clarity, ad measurement) and Crazy Egg, Inc. (heatmaps, recordings, A/B tests). The ad tags receive page views, the fact that the form was sent and a hashed copy of your email address, never your message.
- Partner factories that quote or make your product. When you engage us, they get the drawings, specifications and quantities they need, not your contact list. Those factories are in Taiwan, China or Vietnam.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Files attached to the contact form are deleted automatically 90 days after upload; copies you ask us to work from become part of the project record. Inquiries that do not become a project are deleted within 24 months of our last contact. Project records are kept for as long as tax and business-record rules require. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (Google offers 2 or 14 months). Clarity keeps recordings for 30 days, except recordings we mark as favorites and a random sample Microsoft keeps, which are kept for up to 9 months.
Your choices
Email jack@jchtrade.com to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We answer within 30 days. Some US states give their residents specific privacy rights; we honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live.
Children
This is a business-to-business site. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access limited to the people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, so please do not send anything through the form that you would not send by email. For confidential drawings, ask us first and we will agree how to exchange them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable United States law.
